“As a CWF delegation, we learned how to recognize an issue, how to create a plan to solve it, and how to put that plan into action.”

CWF, Action Planning and the Revolution of Responsibility
The Twiggs story is just one example of how CWF goes beyond just lectures and sightseeing. It teaches youth how to turn ideas into action.
You’ve likely seen and heard about 4-H’s Revolution of Responsibility. It’s a movement for positive change in every community in America. 4-H youth are a living breathing, culture-changing revolution for doing the right thing, breaking through obstacles and pushing our country forward by making a measurable difference right where they live.
CWF personifies this movement. One of the most unique pieces of our curriculum is our action planning session where delegates brainstorm issues in their communities and work as groups to create action plans they can implement when they return home. The action plans created include the following elements:
- Goal: A specific goal is needed so everyone is on the same page and knows what the group is trying to achieve. What do we want to accomplish?
- Steps: What are steps needed in order to reach this goal?
- Obstacles to those Steps: What may get in our way and how will we deal with it?
- Resources that can be used: Who and what can help us take these steps and address these obstacles?
- Timeframes: How long will each of these steps take to do? When do we want to have achieved our goal?
- Accountability: Who is responsible for making sure each of these steps happen on time?
